Mindy Kaling Owns Troll Who Used GIF of ‘Office’ Episode

In true “Office” fashion, Mindy Kaling had the last laugh when a Twitter user tried to troll her while expressing his dislike for her involvement in HBO Max’s new “Scooby Doo” series.

“Starring Mindy Kaling?” the troll wrote in response to news of the project — an adult live action animated prequel focused on Velma Dinkley, who Kaling will voice. Trying to be clever about his feelings, he added a popular gif from “The Office” that shows Michael Scott yelling “NOOOO.”

But he apparently wasn’t clever enough, and he definitely didn’t have enough knowledge of the hit sitcom. Because Kaling quickly turned the tables on him, putting his tweet on blast by replying “I wrote the episode of The Office this gif is from.”

What a perfect mic drop.

Employers, Designers Need to Make More Room for Modest Dressing

LONDON — Increasing numbers of women worldwide are dressing modestly — for religious, personal or professional reasons — and employers, schools and governments need to recognize those trends, and support women in their choices.

Companies should start incorporating different religious requirements into their business plans and expand their notion of appropriate workwear to more “religious or ethnic fashion” styles, according to a new study by London College of Fashion and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

More from WWD

The study aims to highlight “the breadth and diversity” of women wearing modest fashion. It urges the fashion industry to pay more attention to women’s needs, and wants places of work and study to expand their understanding of what an “appropriate” dress code entails.

Women who worked at U.K. faith-based organizations were interviewed as part of the study, as were women who worked in Saudi Arabia, where they are required to

Rihanna’s pressing pause on Fenty fashion

Fenty, under the leadership of its savant Creative Director Rihanna, has in its three year lifespan become an absolute powerhouse. From leading diversity in the world of cosmetics with Fenty Beauty and Fenty Skin, to revolutionising runway presentations with Savage X Fenty lingerie, Rihanna made the rest of the industry take a long, hard look at itself. Expanding further into fashion with a ready-to-wear line in 2019, Fenty made history as the first LVMH-backed fashion venture led by a woman of colour. However, in a statement to WWD today, Rihanna and LVMH have announced that Fenty — in fashion form, at least — will be closing its doors for the foreseeable future.

“Rihanna and LVMH have jointly made the decision to put on hold the RTW activity, based in Europe, pending better conditions,” the statement said. Although specific reasons have not been detailed, the current coronavirus pandemic

‘Real Housewives of Salt Lake City’ Finale Recap, Episode 13

Cue the Mormon ghost-choir hype music, because we made it! Alas, the season finale. This episode is extra long not because of any wall-to-wall drama but because Bravo was like, “Everyone’s memory is surely shot after almost a year of trying to survive a global pandemic, so let’s roll the tape to give context to every single moment.” That’s not how memory works! Sure, my brain is an empty husk that immediately blacks out upon joining Zoom and can’t tell the difference between left and right without making finger L’s, but that doesn’t mean I can’t rattle off every time Meredith used her blender or recount Mary’s top-five best grandma-hand-me-down Chanel looks. Just because some of these ladies don’t contain multitudes doesn’t mean we don’t! If the editors gave us even the tiniest bit of credit, they would have so much more latitude to go full VPR or RHOP
